How RICH can communication get?

Our ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally often gets overlooked. Until the class where we observed our feedback based on the "richness" of our communication, I never considered communication without gestures or conversation. Channel richness or the ability to channel the correct meaning from our communicative encounters, in our first trial, was extremely low because the sender (a peer) was unable to answer questions or solve misunderstandings. You would assume that understanding a peer would be much easier due to the fact that we speak the same colloquial and gesture the same way. Well, wrong, which I was definitely proven. The simple fact is that when channel richness was high (the second trial allowed us to collectively ask the sender questions) the proper conveyed message was regurgitated. Although it became slightly unorganized more receivers were able to draw the proper diagram.

Communication is key! The most effective communication is projected through verbal and nonverbal interactions

... and the proper and comprehensible form is just as important.

D.I.S.C: What letter best fits you?

From the in depth test, Influence was my diagnostic. These characteristics definitely reveal the true Ebony. A prime example has been my new responsibility as president of my organization of over 60 members, Theta Phi Gamma sorority;some crazy lovable women. Taking into consideration the several personalities and circumstances where I must motivate my members for recruitment, enthusiasm is key. In all situations where I must play mediator for even the seemingly insignificant debacles, I must look at each sister with no reservations. This environment definitely brings to life my Influential diagnostic. This environment is comfortable and my members have adequately achieved the action plan needed. Being such a organized obsessive perfectionist, lists, deadlines and honest appraisals suit my character perfectly. These guidelines have kept me successful in my en devours and tasks as president.

In my opinion, types can be modified. Why should we have to permanently stay in one quadrant? As time changes we mature and adapt to each daunting situation; to a degree  our type is basically the same at our core but just assimilates to the current situation. Knowing anothers' type is just as important, knowing this solves the issue of "how do I work with this person efficiently and get the goal fulfilled." In general understanding people's  traits , type, abilities and inabilities ensure a smoother plan of action. This diagnostic can categorize each member's strengths or replace this member with another who will compensate for their weakness.

I AM TYPE INFLUENCE!

The Guidance of Vision; The Solution of Action

For so many years the monotony of school has distracted me from the mature vision of my future. Through our twenties or even later our vision may change or flourish, but actually directing and following this proposed future plan may be more beneficial then I thought.Vision will only be catalyzed by the action that follows. Without Action we tend to dismiss our premature brainstorms and replace them with present stresses or current obligations.

Like I have previously stated I am a self-taught artist. I would love to develop the skills that I have acquired in the past and those of the future into a gallery focused on these pieces. I envision this gallery congested with all the work I've created. It would be crowded with all friends, family and good company. First I would give time, in my probable busy future, to create enough artwork to properly do this. I would then present some pieces in local artist's shows and then finally allocate enough money, supplies, and workers to get the job done. I would also purchase a gallery to have my artwork exhibited.

One vision that just needs a little more initiative is my participation in a non-profit Animal or Children organization. This would require more action and allocated time for participation.

A small curiosity that has recently been prodded would be to expand my obsession with shoes into a creation of them. Apparently I am a person who will visualize an art piece, shoe, outfit or etc before I even know if it's in existence. I would begin by interning at a hopefully high-end shoe label where I would eventually take the necessary steps to design phenomenal shoes for the fashionista in all of us.

All in all, all these visions come secondary to the future action of attaining an influential and affluent career to repay my loved ones for all their support. Hopefully this career will be may passion, advertising and graphic arts but...
  C`est la vie!!!
