It's All about the BLOG!

Inside the minds of my peers and professors
Given the tight-knit layout of our classroom, communication and interaction with all my classmates is surprisingly impossible. Thus my peers become diligent students focused on the professor and the material at hand (this is of course not to mock our main reason for attendance). By making these blog entries, we are able to elaborate and ensure our understanding of the material. The blog is somewhat informal but still gives another outlet for us to document our perception and understanding of the information. Not only does this aid the blogger themselves but also the reader who now has a more comprehensive understanding of the material. This generates a flow of observations amongst all students. Whether or not I formed relationships with my peers, the most important conclusion was that I personally was able to see information in different approaches and find out interesting facts about this diverse class. The great thing about this blog is that it acts as a forum and a network where any inquires could be asked and perceptions could be revealed without judgment. We were encouraged to add extra postings which made our blogs more personal and more enjoyable as did Professor K's. The freedom of the blog made it not as mundane as papers or other common assigments.

Honestly Professor K's blog has been very interesting for me. Although the entries are not necessarily the exact material we cover in class, the Management words "A to R" (so far) have definitely made me think and want to be more proactive so I can get things done. I appreciated the fact that our professor's blog wasn't simple and uninteresting. It gave the right amount of outside information where my mind could wander from the definitive syllabus into other facets of management.

For me, testing isn't the greatest part of college but I was slightly eased because major topics were further explained by me writing my blogs and reading others. This portion of the class allowed us to not only be unique and personalize our blogs but gave us a somewhat unrestricted way to successful gain 20% of our grade.

All in all, I really liked this assignment and without it I would never...

  1. Hi Ebony.I agree with you that "The blog is somewhat informal but still gives another outlet for us to document our perception and understanding of the information." The Blog in reality had 2 functions:it was formal because we submitted our assignments and learned about the management, and it was informal the same time bacause we interract with other students, share our thoughts, opinions, ideas and learned something new and personal about each other.
